'Longmire' Season 4 News: Writer Tony Tost Suggests Organizers Of 'Twitter Stampedes' Rethink Their Strategy To Benefit Cancelled A&E Series [VIDEO]
Fans of Longmire began to organize "Twitter Stampedes" to promote the series following A&E's decision to cancel the crime drama and continue to do so as producers search to find the program a new network. According to Longmire writer Tony Tost, however, the "stampede" folks might want to rethink their strategy.

Tost voiced his opinion via Twitter on Monday, explaining that the stampedes might be more effective if scheduled for the same day and time on a regular basis.
Love the weekly #LongLiveLongmire stampedes. I wonder, though: should folks think about doing it the same time/day each week? @LongmirePosse

If the #LongLiveLongmire stampede is every Mon night, then it could build by word of mouth. If it changes time/day, I don't know if it can. — Tony Tost (@tonytost) October 14, 2014
For me, it's the same as if a network were to change the day/time of a show every week. Harder to build critical mass. #LongLiveLongmire

The aim of a stampede is to promote the #LongLiveLongmire hashtag and get the series trending. Fans hope that if they can build enough support, it might encourage a network to pick up the program. It also keeps Longmire relevant for viewers and the media even without a network or new episodes.
If Longmire does find a new home, it will likely return for a fourth season sometime during the second half of 2015.
