Missy Elliot has dropped a ton of weight and she says she did it the healthy way.

The legendary female rapper, whose known for songs like Work It and Get Ur Freak On, revealed that she used the workout DVDs of famous celebrity trainer Shaun Thompson to shed the pounds.

“Didn't [lose] 70 pounds that was during my Under Construction album this time I lost 30 eating healthy/work out to @shauntfitness T25 videos,” she tweeted on Oct. 19. “I do insanity workout to @shauntfitness videos. Sweets/bread/ fried foods is my weakness it's not easy but health comes 1st.”

Elliott, who performed for Alexander Wang’s H&M collection launch in New York City on Oct. 16, showed off her new figure that night. The 43-year-old shared a photo of her slimmer self wearing a Nike sweatshirt and a cap that reads, “You can’t workout with us.”

“Just got off stage thanks @ALEXANDERWANGNY and @hmusa for having me perform I enjoyed,” she also tweeted along with a photo of herself.

Elliott’s return to the stage comes years after being out of the spotlight. In 2008, she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, which causes the thyroid gland to become overactive. The rapper treated her lifelong autoimmune condition with radiation in the form of a pill also referred to as radioactive iodine.

The rapper, who also has high blood pressure, experienced the common side effects including hair loss and skin changes. However, the disease also affected her nervous system and took her away from her normal work schedule.

“For me, that was traumatic,” she told Sway Calloway on his radio show in 2012. "It just felt like everything was happening at once."

However, she also explained that she was ready to return to her passion adding, "I want to be a leader, I want to be an inspiration."
