'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' Canceled: Mama June Denies Dating Child Molester, 'That is My Past' [VIDEO]
Mama June took to Facebook to address the cancelation of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo with what she called a "truth video."
Mama June Spotted Looking For Homes
"Just got a phone call this morning from TLC and as of right now there will be no more production of the show," the 34-year-old said in a video posted to Honey Boo Boo's Facebook page Friday. "The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue."
News broke Thursday that the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo reality star was secretly seeing Mark McDaniel, a man who was convicted in 2004 of molesting her 8-year-old relative. June was also dating him at the time of his conviction. The 53-year-old, who served 10 years in prison, is now on Georgia's list of registered sex offenders.
Honey Boo Boo Cancels A Meet & Greet
McDaniel's son Michael and Mama June's daughter, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, have both denied the report. However, a photo posted by TMZ, shows the two in a hotel room together.
"I would not ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much," Mama June said. "That is my past; I have not seen that person in 10 years and don't want to see that person."
Mama June later thanked the show's fans adding, "The experience has been awesome to us. The girls have been able to do things that they would not normally have been able to do."
She also updated fans on her relationship with Sugar Bear Thompson, stating that the two are still broken up and have remained civil. The former couple announced their split in September.
"We are better off friends than we are a couple," she said. "We actually have come to notice that."
