According to Us Weekly on Monday, Lopez sat down with the Today Show to give fans a closer look at her personal life.

As far as her two kids, she said, "They save me. Their love and loving them and them coming into my life really made me reevaluate what I was doing with my life, and the relationships and the choices I was making in relationships sometimes."

She added, "I want both of them to be independent, good on their own first. Like, whole people - what they have to contribute, what they have to offer."

As far as finding "The One" in her life, Lopez admits that it might just be a fairy tale that might or might not happen one day.

Lopez explained, "I feel like, when we're kids, you're sold into this fairy-tale idea of what love is - that Prince Charming is gonna come along and save you, and you're gonna live happily ever after. [He's] gonna rescue me from the Bronx, and we're gonna go off and live in a castle somewhere and it's gonna be awesome. He's gonna love me forever, and I'm gonna love him forever, and it's gonna be real easy. And it's so different than that."

Meanwhile, the actress has revealed that she was in an abusive relationship while opening up about her marriage to ex-husband Marc Anthony in her new book, True Love.

According to Gossip Cop on Thursday, Lopez dished the dirt on her past relationships, which included her ex-husbands Ojani Noa and Cris Judd and her ex-boyfriend, back up dancer Casper Smart.

Even though she doesn't specify who she was with during her abusive relationship, she does detail how she felt after her marriage ended to Marc Anthony.

She wrote in her book, "Anybody looking from the outside in would have thought my life was great. I had a husband and two beautiful children. I was on 'American Idol' and my new single 'On the Floor' had gone to number one all over the world." She added, however, "What people didn't know was that life really wasn't that good. My relationship was falling apart and I was terrified."
