With a big cast coming to the next X-Men movie, it could mean a lot of big name actors are coming to the series as well. But could one name, who has been rumored for a villain role, change his mind and maybe join as a mutant who could lead a franchise?
Recent reports have linked Tom Hardy to the title role of Apocalypse as the actor has a track record with imposing villains after his turn as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. But could the actor look at another role to play to possibly join the X-Men series for longer?
Another character that has been being talked about is Cable, a big and strong time-traveler who could be the next big thing in X-Men and possibly run the X-Force spin-off. Hardy has the imposing stature of Cable and could slide into the role that would definitely last longer and give him a franchise like he is seeking.

The actor is clearly looking as he is trying to decide between joining X-Men or helping to start a possible franchise at Warner Bros. with Suicide Squad. While Apocalypse may not be a lasting character, Cable is one that seems to be someone that the people behind X-Men really like and are eyeing to start a franchise with.
By taking on the role of Cable, Hardy joins a series that is right now at its highest peak and would be able to get a superhero franchise that everyone seems to be seeking right now.
