One of Penny Dreadful's most youthful characters might just be getting a new look as the Showtime drama heads into its second season.

'Penny Dreadful' Crew Designs 'Spookiest' Set Yet

On Tuesday actor Reeve Carney, who portrays the unaging and mysterious Dorian Gray, announced on Twitter that he'd recently gotten a new haircut specifically for the series.

Fans were immediately curious about the star's latest look and were particularly intrigued by the fact that the performer did not offer a photo.

Carney did not give in, however, which suggests Dorian could be getting a completely different look as the Victorian supernatural drama moves forward.

In addition to new sets, monsters, and characters, fans of the show are eager to see Dorian's infamous portrait, which was alluded to during season one but never fully revealed. The actor has confirmed that there was a painting made for the him to play opposite during his scenes in that secret room, but this one might not be the official painting audiences get to see. Nonetheless, the odds of viewers getting a glimpse of the aging portrait are good, and the reveal could happen as early as the upcoming premiere.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
