While fans have expressed their outrage and disappointment over Witches of East End's cancellation, it looks like one of the actress's husbands is doing what he can to bring the series back for a renewal.

'Witches Of East End' Was Supposed To Have 'Other Villains?'

On Saturday, Carter Matt announced that Channing Tatum, the husband of actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum who played Freya on the supernatural drama, has signed a petition to renew the series. The site said that this petition has more than 40,000 signatures on it. The actor even took to his Twitter page to prove that he signed the form.

However, if this petition does get a good haul of signatures, does that mean there will be a consideration to renew the series? It might happen, but only time will tell from here. For the most part, it seems like it's a done deal, but a miracle might take place at some point.

'Witches Of East End' Is Officially Cancelled

If the series does not come back to television, there is still a possibility that some cliffhanger questions will be answered. Entertainment Weekly recently reported that the show's characters might return in a new novel series called Triple Moon: Summer on East End. The story would involve two teenage girls who live with their "Aunt" Ingrid who helps them control their magic. Freya and Killian are also expected to show up.

Writer Melissa De La Cruz is hoping that she can write this series, but it's not for sure just yet.

"I have asked producers if there is no hope for the show, if I can weave in some of the cliffhangers from season two so I can resolve them and bring closure," she said. "I have an idea on how to do it, but we'll see. It's a legal issue so it might not be able to fly."
