Athletes from the USA, the Czech Republic, Russia, Nigeria and Jamaica will compete in the finals for the women's 400-meter hurdles, airing on Aug. 8 at 3:45 p.m. Eastern Time.

Team USA will be represented in the competition by T'erea Brown, Lashinda Demus and Georganne Moline. Demus, 29, has the best personal time among all the players competing on Wednesday, coming in with 52.47 seconds. The current world record time is 52.34, set by Russian Yuliya Pechonkina on Aug. 8, 2003. Coming in second best from Wednesday's lineup is

Russia holds the second most track and field Olympic medals of all time, with a total of 7 behind USA, which has 13. Natalya Antyukh, 31, ranked in at No. 1 in the semifinals with a mark of 53.33. and will try to bring home another gold for her country in the finals.

Jamaicans have already performed extremely well in track and field, with Usain Bolt taking home the gold for his 100-meter sprint and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce doing the same in the women's division. On Wednesday's hurdles final, Kaliese Spencer, 25, will try and continue to make her country proud. Coming in with the second best time from Wednesday's lineup is Spencer with 52.79 seconds.
