Country superstar Carrie Underwood won Favorite Female Artist-Country at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

Carrie Underwood Shares Tragic Inspiration For New Song

Having hosted the 48th Annual CMA Awards earlier this month, Underwood took her turn on the other side of the podium over the weekend. Inspired by her fans and gracious for the win, the Something In The Water singer voiced her appreciation on Twitter Monday, thanking everyone for their "sweetness."

Underwood is having a big year. In addition to dueting with pal Miranda Lambert for Somethin' Bad off Lambert's Platinum album, the singer has also had some milestone moments of her own.

On Sept. 1 Underwood announced that she and husband Mike Fisher, who plays in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, are expecting their first child together. This by itself would be big news, but Underwood didn't stop there. On Nov. 5 she teamed up with Brad Paisley to host the CMA Awards. That same night she released the music video for her latest single (featured below), and her husband couldn't have been prouder.

Next up is Underwood's greatest hits album, which will feature two all new songs. She is expected to give birth to a baby boy in the spring, though she and Fisher are keeping the precise due date under wraps for the time being.

Greatest Hits: Decade #1 will be available in stores on Dec. 9.
