Usain Bolt 4x100M Relay Final Live Stream: Watch Online London 2012 Olympics (Race Time 4PM)
Usain Bolt in the men's 4x100M relay final at the London 2012 Olympics will be one of the highlights of Saturday's action as the Games near their end. The 4x100 meter relay final can be watched online through live stream from 4 p.m. ET (see below for link).
Bolt has already made history at these London Games by becoming the first person to successfully defend his 200M Olympic title. Prior to that he also retained his 100M crown running a new Olympic record time of 9.63 seconds - the second fastest time in history.
Now he is vying for his third Olympic gold of these games, having already claimed three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics four years ago. And it would take a brave person to bet against him doing so; Jamaica have undoubtedly the most powerful and fastest quartet of sprinters in the world. Both Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake have taken both the gold and silver medals respectively in both 100M and 200M sprint events so far. In the 200M Jamaica also amazingly clinched the bronze medal as well to take a complete clean sweep.
However, the excitement of the 4x100M event comes because it is not always the team with the fastest individuals that win the gold medal. The 4x100M race is truly a team effort and it takes three perfect baton exchanges between each team's athletes to ensure they register the fastest time possible.
In the past teams who have been favorite to take medal finishes have struggled under the pressure of the event, with batons dropped and mix-ups taking place - even host nation Team GB, who were hopeful of claiming a medal in the 4x100M relay final, will miss out on the final as their team was disqualified for not exchanging the baton between its sprinters in time before running out of the permitted handover zone.
This final will be fast, high-pressured and will see the team that can best deal with the pressure as a group come through to win.
