Carrie Underwood rarely leaves home without makeup and on Saturday the country star chatted with cosmetics CEO Bobbi Brown about how to look fabulous on a day-to-day basis.

The first thing Underwood said to CMT on Saturday is that she understands her own limitations. Sometimes her mascara doesn't go where she wants it to, and that is just part of being human.

"I am an offender of getting mascara in places where it shouldn't be," noted Underwood, "Like the bridge of my nose and around my eyes."

In spite of inevitable mishaps, the Something In The Water singer always wants to look her best. "I don't think I ever have makeup-free days, to be honest," she explained, though she insist that she wears makeup for herself, not because of what others will think.

"I wear makeup for me," insisted Underwood. "I don't want to walk by a mirror and feel like I haven't given some sort of effort. I just feel better when I have a little on."

As it turns out, Underwood doesn't rely on stylists to do her makeup out on the road. Whether she's at home or getting ready for a concert, the singer prefers to do everything herself. "There are just so many people out on the road," she explained, adding that she prefers to be able to relax in the chair. "[I] have all my things, and it's quiet," she insisted. "It's my time to play."

Carrie Underwood is currently pregnant with her first child, and so it's unlikely she'll be hitting the road too much over the next few months. The singer and her husband Mike Fisher, who plays in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, are expecting their baby boy in the spring of 2015.
