Lambert is one of the five performers who will be honored at the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony in Nashville this week and with four ACM wins, a hit album, certified platinum single, and four wins at the CMA Awards last month, the singer has certainly earned it.

"I don't even know what to say," claimed the 31-year-old as she stood onstage at the 48th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 5. "I can't believe I'm standing here. I can't believe this is my life."

Lambert has managed to set a standard within the industry, bringing more recognition to female country artists than possibly ever before.

Even with all the fame and awards though, the Somethin' Bad singer relishes in just performing for a live crowd.

"When they're holding up their beer and they're singing along, that's what it's all about," Lambert told CMT on Friday. "That's it. That's the end. Our job is done because we're there to let people escape from their own reality. And I can escape from my own reality for that hour and a half and just be in the moment and be in the music."

"That's awesome," added the singer. "I mean, that's the whole point of all of this."

The CMT Artists Of The Year ceremony will take place in Nashville on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
