'Young And The Restless' Actor Kristoff St. John Mourns Loss Of Son After Long Battle With Mental Illness [PHOTO]
Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John is mourning the loss of his son.
The actor's ex-wife, Mia, revealed via Facebook that their son, an artist named Julian St. John, committed suicide after battling a mental illness. He was 24.
"On November 23rd Kristoff St John and I lost our beautiful son, Julian St John. Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit. He fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle--he simply chose to set himself free. My fight for mental health will continue," she wrote. "They may not find a cure in my lifetime, but we can try and prevent the loss of another beautiful soul. Funeral services will be December 5th, his birthday, in Westlake, California. Following services will be a reception and art exhibit from his final collection."
She later added: "While nothing can remove our pain at the moment, we find solace in your messages and knowing how much our son, Julian St John was loved."

On Nov. 29, Kristoff also shared a link to photos of his artistic son from 2013, which promoted his one-night show at the Laguna Gallery of Contemporary Art in California.
"And so the legend continues...once upon a time," he wrote along with the link on Nov. 29.
On Julian's website, TheArtofJulian.com, he described himself as "a complex, but extraordinary young man" who uses his art to take people "through his journey of psychosis."
"It's a story of despair and triumph, where reality and delusion become intertwined," the website reads.
