The evil Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten) will be given a makeover in the second half of the season on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Maleficent has previously been featured on Once Upon a Time with a big head of blonde hair and a horns-shaped crown, a departure from the look of the villain seen in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Once Upon a Time costume director Eduardo Castro recently revealed that he is redoing Maleficent's headpiece for the second half of season 4.

"One of the things I was sorry about that I didn't do [with] the first Maleficent was a much more elaborate headpiece," Castro told TVGuide.com recently. "Now, the new headpiece will be more like the cartoon. And I think it's going to be quite spectacular."

Maleficent is one of three iconic female Disney villains set to appear in the second half of the season. She will be joined by Cruella De Vil (Victoria Smurfit) from 101 Dalmatians and Ursula (Merrin Dungey) from The Little Mermaid.

In the mean time, the residents of Storybrooke are dealing with the latest curse to hit their town, the Snow Queen's (Elizabeth Mitchell) Spell of Shattered Sight. Once Upon a Time co-creator Edward Kitsis previously revealed that this arc will be concluded by the midseason finale which leads into a big twist.

"The arc will come to an end and the Snow Queen is dealt with, but something surprising rears its head in the aftermath of this story, and it takes us right into our next arc," Kitsis told TVGuide.com. "It's our favorite twist yet."

Does this have anything to do with the trio of iconic villainesses?

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
