Urban dazzled just as much with his performance of the James Brown hit It's A Man's Man's Man's Word as much as he did with his acceptance speech, during which he thanked the audience.
"People go, 'Why is the audience so important?'" explained the singer. "I go, 'Because without them, it's just one long sound check.' That's it. It's why we do what we do, so thank you very much."

"I have an amazing crew who takes such good care of me…none other than the person who takes care of me the most and I love the most in the world, my wife Nicole Mary," he said of wife and actress Nicole Kidman. "I'm so glad you're here tonight. It all makes sense because you're in the world, baby."
Urban continued by emphasizing the importance of his girls and how he doesn't think it's a coincidence that they came together and started a family. "Everything I do has purpose and meaning now like it never has before," he noted. "I think these things aren't happening by coincidence. There's just real meaning in why I do what I do, and it's all from you and our girls. I'm so glad you're here."
The humbled country artist continues to live in Nashville with his wife and their two daughters, six-year-old Sunday Rose and three-year-old Faith Margaret.
