Chris Rock visited The Howard Stern Show on Monday and offered an update on fellow comedian Tracy Morgan.

Rock, 49, said he's visited his Top Five co-star at his home after an accident in June which left him in critical condition.

"It's day-to-day," Rock said of Morgan's recovery. "Day-to-day means you can be great for two weeks, and then like regress."

When asked if he believes Morgan will return to showbiz, Rock said, "I'm not sure."

"It is sad, because he's one of the nicest guys you're ever going to meet," Rock added.

Morgan, 46, was left in serious condition on June 7 after a Walmart truck hit into the limo bus that he and four others were traveling in on the northbound New Jersey Turnpike. Morgan was returning from his standup show the night prior at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Delaware.

The father of four had undergone surgery for a broken leg and also had broken ribs, a broken nose and femur. The accident killed fellow comedian James McNair, known as Jimmy Mack, and injured two others.

Later in June, Morgan's publicist, Lewis Kay, also put out a statement with an update on the comedian's status.

"Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement," his publicist said. "His personality is certainly starting to come back as well."
