Addams Family Star Dies: Actor Who Played Pugsley Dead From Heart Attack, His Niece Posts News On Facebook [VIDEO]
One of the beloved characters from the iconic series The Addams Family died on Sunday, according to a recent Facebook post.
Shanyn Vieira, the niece of actor Ken Weatherwax, announced the tragic news on social media. Weatherwax was known for playing Pugsley in the popular black and white sitcom.
Vieria wrote, "Just want to let you know that my Uncle Ken Weaterwax (please look him up) who played Pugsley from the Addam's Family died today from a heart attack. So when you hear the theme song please think of me!!!......LOL!.......you will see him on TMZ and the news........ RIP Uncle!.......Love you!!.....XOXO"
It turns out that Vieria was right- TMZ did end up posting this news. And according to the site, the actor, who died at 59, will have two funerals- one for his family and another for his fans.
While Weatherwax was known for playing Pugsley in the TV version of the "creepy and spooky" family, he also voiced the character in Halloween With the New Addams Family, which came out in the late 1970s. After this, it seemed like he put the acting days behind him and moved on to different kinds of work, including grip and set building behind the scenes.
Even though he was no longer part of the Addams clan or any other kind of acting clan, he still managed to make appearances at fan conventions.
