Keith Urban is starting a new tradition this New Year's Eve as he and his family head up to Niagara Falls for one last show in 2014.

"I think I worked most of the time on New Year's Eve before I was married," Urban admitted to Global News on Monday.

Then the Somewhere In My Car singer married actress Nicole Kidman and everything changed. "I've certainly had a few [New Year's Eves] where it's been just us with family, or just Nic and I," explained Urban. "Actually, probably I won't since I've been married I haven't worked on New Year's Eve? I think that's probably right."

This year, however, Urban is reviving an old tradition and bringing his family along for the ride. Urban, Kidman, and their daughters will be headed to Niagara Falls in Canada this year as the country star perform the New Year's Eve show alongside artists like Nick Jonas.

"I've been there a couple times," said the singer. "I mean, it's magnificent. It's a pretty magical place."

As for the week leading up to the big trip, Urban is looking forward to some relaxation. "Really just a family Christmas," insisted the star of his holiday plans. "Nice and quiet here at the house."

Kidman's mother will be visiting them for Christmas, while Urban's parents are scheduled to arrive in January. Kidman lost her father in September and while the holidays are sure to be hard without him, she is taking comfort in the unity of her family.

Urban and Kidman continue to live in Nashville with their two young daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
