USA Network Hosts 'SVU' Marathon
Every Wednesday night fans watch as their favorite New York Special Victims Unit detectives tackle some of the hardest domestic abuse cases, and while the show may be fictional, the stories are not.
The heinous crimes seen on the show are depictions of real life domestic abuse crimes, and the actors on the show are eager to put an end to sexual abuses on and off the show.
Actress Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson, has partnered with a campaign called "No More Silence. No More Violence" to create a public awareness and engagement campaign focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
This organization seeks to break the social stigma, normalize the conversation around domestic violence and sexual assault, and increase resources to address these urgent issues.
A-List celebs such as Hilary Swank, Ice T, New York Jets running back Curtis Martin, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback William Gay, Meghan Good, Mary J. Blige, and many others have taken part of this campaign to put an end to domestic violence.
Hargitay along with the rest of the cast of the show are determined to make a difference in local communities around the world and it's become evident that their love for helping others goes far beyond the small screen.
