Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger appear to be very serious about each other, yet they didn't spend Christmas together.

On Dec. 18, Hollywood Life reported that Schwarzenegger's mom Maria Shriver wouldn't let him bring Cyrus to their Christmas celebration, which apparently led to plenty of friction between him and his parents.
Schwarzenegger was apparently at war with his mom over Cyrus getting banned.
Schwarzenegger reportedly really wanted her by his side, but a new report from Hollywood Life on Friday revealed that the Wrecking Ball singer was actually understanding and didn't mind spending time with her own family for Christmas.
Cyrus after all did a bit of an Instagram overload on sharing her Christmas festivities and presents received.
A source revealed to Hollywood Life that Cyrus knew "that Maria wanted things to be all about family and Miley respected her wishes and didn't force the subject to be there and did her own thing on Christmas."
The source further revealed that despite the couple not being together they were still communicating with each other.
"They still talked and it wasn't the end of the world that they didn't hang out because they will make it up to each other in a few days," the source shared.
The source also mentioned the pair will reunite for New Year's Eve since they were apart for Christmas.
