Kelly Ripa Co-Host To Be Revealed on September 4
Kelly Ripa's new and permanent co-host of her daily "Live!" morning talk show will be revealed on Tuesday, Sept. 4, the show's producers announced.
On Aug. 20, Disney-ABC Domestic Television confirmed that Ripa will welcome her new co-host on stage when the show's new season begins, according to Fox News. Though the new host will debut on Sept. 4, the day before, Ripa will reveal his or her name on-air.
Beginning on Nov. 21, the show when through 59 guest co-host's since Regis Philbin's departure and Fox reported that company representatives are saying the new permanent co-host will come from that list of guests. The day before the new host will debut, Ripa will host the show for the first time solo, according to Yahoo!
Her new co-host, who's identity has yet to be revealed, with have together as their first guest "Homeland" actress Claire Danes and "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips, also according to the site.
Phiblin created the show and Ripa became his co-host in 2001. Examiner.com reported that Ripa renewed her contract for another five years after Philbin left in January of 2011, so fans should expect to see her on-camera at least until 2017.
"A whole new era will begin for 'Live,'" an executive for the show said about the big announcement.
