As the synopsis for the mid-season premiere of Arrow is finally out, and the episode will obviously focus on the disappearance of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), but in an interesting side note, it was revealed that Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) will be testing "a part of his new suit."

Could this mean that fans will finally get to see Palmer in his superhero avatar as The Atom, something that viewers have been deprived of and the producers had mentioned that it wasn't likely to happen in this season?

In an interview on October 20, 2014, Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TVLine about the possibility of The Atom featuring on Arrow.

"Anything is possible," Guggenheim said. "My instinct is if Ray Palmer is going to shrink he'll probably shrink on another show. With The Flash in existence, there's no compelling reason for us to do superpowers on Arrow." That said, the EP teases, "We have plans for Ray that don't involve shrinking but are actually really cool."

"THE TEAM DEALS WITH OLIVER'S DISAPPEARANCE - In the aftermath of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow's absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver's disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary. The episode is set to release on January 21, 2015 at 8 p.m. E.T. on the CW.
