Is Jennifer Aniston Jealous Of Her Brother's Pregnancy News?
In a new interview with CBS Sunday Morning (via the Daily Mail), Aniston says, "There was a period where I was hell bent on saying, 'That's not true, that's not right, that's not fair.' And now I just think you have to let it roll off your back."
She added, "The main thing is to try to just keep refocusing back on what you know is true and what makes you guys happy. We know that our truth is. That's all just static."
Is Jennifer Aniston Feeling Pressure To Get Pregnant From Her Family?
Meanwhile, her latest box office offering, Cake, has gotten slammed by critics.
According to Claudia Puig of USA Today, she urged her readers to pass up on what she calls a "half-baked" Cake.
She wrote, "Cake is a murky meal, not really knowing what it wants to be. Is it a glum tale of depression and grief or a redemptive tale of unhappy misfits who find one another?"
She added, "While it's good to see Aniston take a darker, deeper role - a more hollow-eyed version of the unhappy woman she played in 2002's The Good Girl - the story surrounding her in Cake lacks the necessary ingredients."
Scott Mendelson of Forbes.com seems to be echoing that same sentiment while calling the film nothing more than a "small-scale character study."
He wrote, "At the risk of judging a would-be Oscar contender on its alleged merits as an Oscar contender, I will admit that Jennifer Aniston is very good in the film. But the performance is only a revelation if you happen to think Jennifer Aniston isn't a very good actress, a position I do not happen to hold."
Cake is playing in selected cities now and is opening nationwide on Jan. 23.
