Tennis rackets are out and the U.S. Open begins in New York this Monday.

The U.S. will have five of their men playing in the single's round 1 on Aug. 27, starting at 11 a.m. Eastern time. Americans Bobby Reynolds and Tim Smyczek will go head to head in the competition's only round 1 singles event where two players from the same country compete against each other.

The matches will take place on the courts of Flushing Meadows Park in Queens.

Star player Roger Federer is off his recent Wimbeldon win, giving him a record 17 Grand Slam championships, according to the Huffington Post. The athlete is definitely a contender, and for many a fan favorite, to get to the men's finals round this year at the Open games.

"He's continually surprised me with his achievements...I think he has a lot more tennis in him," said Andre Agassi, a two-time U.S. Open champion and runner-up to Federer in 2005. "He looked as comfortable as I've ever seen him on the tennis court in England. He maybe needs one or two things to fall for him to knock down a few more (Grand Slam titles) at this stage of his career, but he's certainly as capable of it as anybody I've ever seen."

Federer will pursue his sixth U.S. Open title starting Monday.

The Williams' sisters, Venus and Serena, will return to the courts also for the U.S. Open. Serena hopes to win her 15th major trophy and fourth U.S. Open title, adding to her recent victories of getting two gold medals at the 2012 Olympic Games. Venus' return is shocking to many fans, after she withdrew from the tournament last year, announcing that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, according to the Post.

The 13 day tournament includes the following lineup for round 1 of the singles match on Aug. 27:

Maria Sharapova (RUS) vs. Melinda Czink (HUN) at 11 a.m.

Victoria Duval (USA) vs. Kim Clijsters (BEL) at 7 p.m.

Roger Federer (SUI) vs. Donald Young (USA) at 7 p.m.
