Tracy Anderson, Diet Guru and Trainer, Drops Baby Weight in Six Weeks, Criticizes Moms Who Use Pregnancy as an Excuse to 'Let Their Bodies Go'
Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is known for getting A-listers in top shape and transforming Hollywood mothers into "momshells."
However, Anderson revealed her rapid baby weight loss while criticizing other moms for taking longer to lose the extra pounds.
In May, Anderson gave birth to daughter Penelope and lost the 30-pound pregnancy weight gain within six weeks.
"A lot of women use pregnancy as an excuse to let their bodies go, and that's the worst thing," Anderson told DuJour magazine in their September issue. "I've seen so many women who come to me right after (having children) with disaster bodies that have gone through hell, or they come to me years later and say, 'Oh, my body is like this because I had three kids.' "
The trainer behind the ripped bodies of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow said she put on a healthy 30 pounds by avoiding overeating and by staying active, according to Radar Online.
After giving birth to her son Sam in 1988, Anderson struggled to slim down. The fitness guru piled on about 60 pounds by feasting on milkshakes and hot dogs.
"I feel like I've lived an entire lifetime since then," said the former dancer, who went on to create the Tracy Anderson Method workout.
Even though she is famous for being physically fit, Anderson admitted it was still tough to get back into shape after giving birth the second time around. She also has 10 pounds to go to reach her ideal weight.
"For 13 years I've been jumping around, dancing at such high levels all over the world and with no sleep for multiple hours a day," she said during her magazine interview. "I thought, 'Please, I can bust out an hour of dance aerobics, no problem.' Wrong!"
But for Anderson, the obstacles she has had to overcome are well worth it.
"I know that the journey of getting back to your best level of performance physically is very hard, but it's an incredibly empowering place to be," she said.
