“I think the fact that they never killed the character off is very telling,” de Pablo said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, according to TVLine.com. “Under the right circumstances, I think it could definitely be explored.”

The actress, 35, who played Ziva David for eight seasons, announced her decision to leave the popular CBS show in July 2013. During the press tour, she said she doesn’t regret the decision.

“I’m very happy with my choices. I spent time with family, which was incredibly important for me. I’ve had time to deal with me, which I couldn’t really do for a long time, so I’m blessed for that,” she said.

While speaking about the way Ziva left the show, de Pablo said she felt it was “rushed” and would have preferred more “closure.”

“But I think all in all I could not be more blessed, because I got a chance to be with my ‘love,’ Michael. Any time you put Michael and I together there’s going to be a spark, and there’s going to be real honesty, and for that I am forever grateful. Because in that sense there was a sense of conclusion as far as what [the characters] felt for each other,” she said about her co-star Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo.
