The newest update on the highly anticipated Apple tablet states that it will indeed be called the iPad Mini, which is what the public has already been coining it. The newest tablet will be smaller than the standard; only 7 inches in size.

The confirmation regarding the latest of Apple's top draws comes from the Japanese website Macotakara. However, the final rollout date for the iPad Mini has not yet been revealed and rumors on the respective release are still being thrown around.

In 2010, the late CEO Steve Jobs had stated that smaller tablets were not "sufficient to create great tablet apps" and would be "dead on arrival," according to Tech Radar. Hence, the latest buzz regarding the new mini version of the iPad shows a new approach for Apple.

According to the tech site on May 16th, the iPad Mini would not take away the limelight from any newer versions of the iPad itself. However, it is said that the smaller version should be preferred amongst both gamers and education institutes.

According to AllThingsD, 2 separate product rollouts for the tech company's iPad Mini and the iPhone 5 will take place, as the iPhone 5 is scheduled to hit stores on Sept. 12.

However, Sept. 21st is said to be the date that the phone will be available to the general public. The site also reports that the announcement for the release date of the iPad Mini will occur after that day.

The latest announcement contradicts earlier reports that the iPad Mini and the iPhone 5 would be released on the same date. On the contrary, it seems as though Apple is clearly looking to allot each of these products in their own time to shine individually.

In other Apple news, the company is reportedly looking to give its iPod lineup some new additions. The iPod Nano is said to be receiving Wi-Fi capabilities while the iPod Touch should be updating its iSight camera.
