Three individuals are dead after a Pathmark employee in Old Bridge, NJ, reportedly opened fire inside a Pathmark grocery store on Friday morning. The alleged shooter, Terence S. Tyler, who had been armed with an automatic pistol and AK-47 assault rifle, is said to have killed two co-workers before taking his own life.

The gunman had reportedly finished his shift only to return at roughly 3:30 a.m. with multiple magazines and the weapons. From that point on, he began shooting randomly and struck the two late co-workers, according to NJ.

"I don't believe they were specifically targeted. I believe everyone was targeted," said Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan.

According to the site, the two victims were 18-year-old Cristina LoBrutto and 24-year-old Bryan Breen.

LoBrutto had recently graduated from Old Bridge High School. The superintendent of the school described her as bright as well as a regular horn player in the music department.

Breen, who was from the Laurence Harbor area of Old Bridge, had graduated in 2006. His family had met on Friday morning in their backyard to console each other.

Breen family neighbor June Launay had commented to the news site on the seemingly abrupt tragedy.

"He was a really nice kid. He's always been polite. He's always been friendly and outgoing," Launay said, fighting back tears. "He's just a normal kid. He wasn't a kid you ever worried about. We're all shaken up over here."

Tyler had apparently had served in the Marines less than two years but never went overseas, according to Marine spokeswoman Capt. Kendra Motz.

The 23-year-old Marine's specialty classification was reportedly "0311 - Rifleman."

Upon enrolling in the Marines on March 24, 2008, the shooter had resided in Brooklyn, NY, but had done his service in Twentynine Palms, California, which was the base of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command.

Tyler had been previously awarded with the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, as well as the National Defense Service Medal. However, he had been discharged on Feb. 27, 2010. The Marines will not say whether or not he was honorably or dishonorably discharged.
