Kindle Fire Release Date; Tablet Comes in 7 inch Only; No 10 inch Model
The Kindle Fire 2 release date is rumored to be only a few days away. Contrary to recent reports, the new Kindle Fire 2 will only exist as a 7 inch tablet; no 8.9 or 10 inch variations will be available, Gather says. A report on CNET suggests that the device will come in two models, but both will be 7 inch tablets.
On the Kindle Fire 2 release date, one of the two variants of the Amazon device will feature a new hardware while the other model will simply be a revamp of the original Kindle Fire tablet, CNET reports.
Amazon is hoping that the new and improved Kindle Fire 2 can compete with other tablets in the market. Amazon currently only holds 4.2% of the share globally in the tablet industry. The company is also expecting to have great sales during the holiday season and compete with the rumored iPad Mini and the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
According to recently leaked photos, the Kindle Fire 2 release date will include several new features for the Amazon tablet. The Verge, a technology venue, released one photo yesterday afternoon and another later in the evening.
In analyzing the photographs, one can assume that Amazon's Kindle Fire 2 will include a microphone and video camera capability with a new camera addition. Another feature will include Skype, which will most likely be available through the Amazon app store. The Kindle Fire 2 will have a new custom design that will look only slightly different from the tablet's original model, the Verge reports.
According to the Christian Post, the Verge also received an additional photo of the tablet but was asked not to publicize it. This photo reportedly indicates "streamlined user interface" with less chrome, the publication wrote.
Word on whether or not the new device will have 4G capability is still unconfirmed.
The Kindle Fire release date is expected to be Sept. 6.
