Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5: Features & Casings Revealed For The Upcoming Release
Just over a week away from the highly anticipated reveal of the iPhone 5 in the United States, Samsung and Apple continue to go head-to-head in the tech world.
As of July, the already released Samsung Galaxy S3 had already grossed the company over 10 million dollars. Hence, Apple will have their work cut out for them in the data phone market.
In recent months, a plethora of different iPhone casings had been leaked on the web suggesting that the upcoming iPhone 5 will be just 7.66mm thick, which is a complete millimeter less than the current Samsung Galaxy S3 at 7.6mm. The casing of the upcoming phone is said to improve ergonomics while still having a similar feel to the iPhone 4.
Consumers should expect the Apple product to be more compact and dense than the previous one. The newly released photos of the case show that the newest iPhone will have a metal frame instead of the dual glass panels of the most recent design.
However, rumors have been circulating that Apple will potentially use a "liquid metal" structure, according to Trusted Reviews.
The metal is considered a rare alloy that has much of the same feel as glass.
On the contrary, if Apple decides to use traditional aluminum, it is said to still be more higher in quality than the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 actually has an all-plastic finish to it, which uses an ultra-thin black cover. The quality of the S3 has received criticism, as it doesn't allow the owner to feel as though the expensive buy is money well spent, according to the site.
Possessing a 4.8in screen, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is larger than the iPhone 5. While the iPhone 5 is roughly 58mm in width, the Samsung measures out at 71mm.
Accessory-wise, the iPhone 5 will roll out new-design headphones, a new power connector as well as its adaptor, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a microUSB, Samsung noise isolating IEM earphones and an adaptor.
The iPhone 5 is set to be revealed at a San Francisco event on Sept. 12th. There is speculation that the item itself will then be released later in the respective month.
