Rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 have been spreading rapidly this week. The amount of leaked Apple information related to the smartphone has also went up extensively, as several pictures and videos, though not confirmed, look very much to be trusted.

iPhone 5 parts had been leaked comparing the newest alleged features to the iPhone 4. Although it was already common knowledge that the iPhone 5 may indeed be a taller and slimmer version, Apple looks like it will be using an A6 chip for the phone over the old A5. Several bloggers claim the information is genuine, while others are skeptical.

Apple is slated to release the iPhone 5 on Sept. 12, although many believe it could potentially be named something else.

Assuming the latest info on the iPhone 5 is indeed accurate, the event would wind up being nearly a year after the iPhone 4S had been on the stage.

Reuters reported that the newest iPhone will possess a 4-inch screen, which is an increase from its previous 3.5-inch model, first debuting in 2007. Analysts said that the display increase is Apple's response to Samsung's larger and competitive Android phones, which have surpassed iPhones in smartphone sales.

Images of the iPhone 5 show a newer 8-pin dock connector that would overtake the previous 30-pin iOS connector. The processor is slated to be upgraded, but there is no guarantee that the front and rear-facing cameras will be.

Many are speculating that Apple will not end there as far as launches go in 2012, as there have already been rumors circulating over the new iPad mini and newer iPods launched.

According to Mac Rumors, Apple may rollout up to eight brand new devices in 2012 alone and KGI Securities' Ming Chi Kuo predicted that the tech company will end up selling 45 million iPhones in the last quarter of the year. That would mean 8 million more than the same quarter in 2011.
