Alfonso Ribeiro, aka Carlton Banks from "Fresh Prince", has laughed off reports that he had died this September 2012, and has revealed that he is clearly not dead, but alive and well.

Earlier this week Ribeiro was the target of a fake death report, causing panic among his fans. The much loved actor became popular playing goofy Carlton Banks in hit TV sit-com "Fresh Prince of Bel Air."

However, the death reports were just the latest in a series of fake posts targeting famous celebrities. Over the past week comedian Adam Sandler and Channing Tatum have been the victims of fake death reports. Reese Witherspoon was also allegedly killed by being stabbed with a spoon - funny simply for its absurdity and attempt at irony.

But Ribeiro has stepped out to make fun of the reports claiming he was dead, explaining that his death hoax was started by an unknown person who created a Facebook page saying that he had died and offering some details about his funeral.

Ribeiro has said, "Thanks for all the love. In every situation you must find the positive."

He chose to laugh off the reports this weekend saying, "I guess Facebook has a page saying I died".

He also added that he wondered what people would be saying at his funeral considering that he wouldn't even be there himself. "I wonder what people are going to say at my funeral?"

It has also been revealed by the actor that his phone hasn't stopped ringing this weekend as friends around the world attempt to contact him to check that he is still alive.

"It's crazy how many people are calling me about this rumor," he has said.

So to help Carlton and ensure that he can keep dancing without being disrupted by incessant phone calls from worried friends, this is to set the record straight - Alfonso Ribeiro is NOT dead, he is alive and well - there is no need to call and bother him!
