"Winning against him in the Olympic semi-final was a big win for me," Murray said, according to the BBC.
While many believe Murray has a great chance of leaving the winner and earning a grand slam in this match at the US Open, Djokovic has not lost a hard court game at an upscale Tennis event since the 2010 US Open.
"Obviously it will be an unbelievably tough match. He moves very well on the hard courts. He's a top, top player, one of the best players that's played. The year he had last year is incredible," Murray said of his competitor.
"I know that on Monday that I'm going to give everything I have on the court. That's all I can do," he added. "I've not necessarily played my best tennis this week but I've just fought hard in all of the matches and found a way to come through them and I'll do the same again in the final."

As Andy Murray continues to hold court at the US Open, eyes are shifting to the attractive blonde on the sidelines.
Murray's girlfriend is 24-year-old Kim Sears, the daughter of tennis coach Nigel Sears. She's been spotted following Murray across the globe as she supports him during matches.
The couple has been dating for years after originally meeting at the 2005 US Open. At the time, Sears was only 17 and she was studying drama, music and art before she heading to the University of Sussex in Brighton, where she studied English literature.
Murray and Sears reportedly broke up around 2010, but their relationship has been consistently strong since, and rumor has it they may be looking to tie the knot after Wimbledon in 2013.
One thing fans know for sure about Sears is that she is passionate about pets. Not only does she run a Twitter account for her own pooch, but she's also made a successful stake in the art world by painting portraits of animals like dogs, cats and horses. Her work can be seen at her website.
Before Murray hit the US Open court, Sears supported him at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, when Murray took home the gold medal for Team Britain in the men's singles tennis competition.
