Tuesday will mark another day of the always excited World Cup qualifier competition. One of the notable matchups will feature Greece vs. Lithuania at 2:45 p.m ET on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Lithuania has yet to even qualify for a World Cup since leaving the Soviet Union in 1990. They started out extremely strong in 2010 with several victories but later lost steam down the stretch and wound up with a fourth place finish.

Marius Stankevicius will be a key player for the Lithuanians. The defender has been a bright spot for the team and his veteran play alongside Tomas Danilevius and goalkeeper Zydrunas Karcemarkas gives the team a solid core to build momentum around. The problem with the team is they are in dire need of more talent.

On the other hand, Greece is looking for some retribution from the 2010 World Cup. After obtaining their first win versus Nigeria, they were then knocked out by powerhouse Argentina, which brought their championship hopes to a halt. However, it was an extreme improvement from the World Cup of 1994, in which they were dominated in all of the three games without even netting one goal.

The key to Greece's success will be Kostas Mitroglou. After putting up an excellent season with the soccer club Armitros in the Greek Super League, he will finally get an opportunity to be Greece's top striker. The player scored his very first national team goal when he faced Denmark. With the team in a current transition from veterans to youth, Mitroglou will need to carry the performance torch that was theoretically passed to him.

All in all, Greece will have the advantage, as they are ranked twelfth while Lithuania is a distant 85. If Greece can expose Lithuania's lack of player depth, then they should be a shoe-in for the win.
