Apple's much anticipated event kicks off at 10 am PST/1 pm EST Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, California.

Though Apple never allows live cameras inside the venue, several bloggers are providing live coverage of the event. Many live blogs are available for the world to see. Apple is expected to announce the much anticipated iPhone 5 and new products including a new iPod Nano and a new iTunes, according to reports early today.

Tech sites begin coverage at the Yerba Buena Center at 12 pm EST or earlier reviewing the rumors about the new smartphone.

Reuters reported that the new iPhone dubbed "iPhone 5" will possess a 4-inch screen, which is an increase from its previous 3.5-inch model that first debuted in 2007. Analysts said that the display increase is Apple's response to Samsung's larger and competitive Android phones, which have surpassed iPhones in smartphone sales.

Images of the iPhone 5 show a new 8-pin dock connector that would overtake the previous 30-pin iOS connector. The processor is slated to be upgraded, but there is no guarantee that the front and rear-facing cameras will be.
