iPhone 5 Problems and Issues; New Connector Change, LTE, and More
One of the biggest issues is price. Apple will sell the new iPhone at the same price established last year for the iPhone 4S: $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB), $399 (64GB).
Apple will roll out their new iOS 6 operating system for iPhone and iPad on September 19. The phone will be available in either black or white casings.
According to Jonathan Ive, Senior VP of Industrial Design at Apple, "You'll experience a big increase in speed in everything you use the iPhone for ... especially for graphics-intensive apps."
Apple is advertising the main selling points of the iPhone 5 with its bigger screen and faster speeds. The screen will have a four inch retina display as well as a brand-new Apple A6 chip which they say is twice as fast as the one in iPhone 4S. The phone is 20% lighter and made of aluminum and glass. Some of the phones abilities list are a capacity for 225 hours standby, 40 hours music usage, 10 hours video and 8 hours on wifi.
Another issue rumored was the change in connector which will now be reversible and 80% smaller than the previous model.
Some changes have been made to Apple's voice assistant Siri which will now be able to handle some sports requests as well as have an integration with the OpenTable application for more detailed instruction.
Additions to the camera allow users to shoot panoramic images at 28 megapixels to compete with Samsung and Nokia. Users will also be able to take photos while they record video.
The iTunes store is also going to get a redesign as they've reached a total of 435 million accounts by integrating Facebook Likes on product sites. The new iTunes store will be available in late October.
Apple has listed a number of carriers to support the phone on their 4G LTE network including AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless in the US. Canadian carriers Rogers, Telus and Bell will host on their networks. The Asian carriers will be KT, SoftBank, KDDI, SingTel and SmarTone. Confirmed European carriers are T-Mobile and Deutche Telekom.
