Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date: Source Says October 21
Samsung has not officially revealed a release date for their Galaxy Note 2, which they unveiled late August in Berlin, however, sources confirm that customers may be able to get their hands on the new gadget in October.
A source told BGR that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may be available for AT&T customers beginning Oct. 21. That coincides with the release date of Nokia's Windows Phone 8. for the carrier. According to the tech site, the information came from a "trusted source."
The International Business Times added that a Samsung executive confirmed the October release rumors for the Note 2. JK Shin told reported that the new gadget will be available starting next month.
Tech sites are already coming in to defend the Note 2 against the iPhone 5, which Apple unveiled on Sept. 12. Pre-orders for the phone started on Sept. 14 and the iPhone 5 will hit shelves Sept. 21.
"In terms of all- around performance," ITProPortal.com reported that Samsung's Note 2 "may just shade a win over the iPhone, even if Apple has produced an unsurprising capable new model."
The Note 2 is confirmed to be bigger in size that the new iPhone, however, that might make it more suitable for watching films and the pen that comes with the device might make it easier for users. In exact dimensions, the iPhone 5 screen comes in at 4 inches, while the Note 2 is 5.5 inches. However, both phones are slimmer than their previous counterparts, making it easier to grasp in one hand and fit in a pocket.
