Even Samsung themselves confirmed the October release of the Android 4.1 Jelly update, but until then, the Slim Beam ROM for the Galaxy S3 is available for Verizon customers.

The ROM uses less device space that regular models and users can choose which add-ons they want, rather than get stuck with ones they barely use. Add-ons like Face Unlock and Google Now are available for download on the SlimRom website, according to Phones Review.

Android Authority lists instructions on how to upgrade to the Slim Beam ROM, but remember, it's only for Verizon Galaxy S3 users.

Since its debut, the Galaxy S3 has become one of the fastest and best- selling phones of all time, and now, Samsung believes their new gadget will surpass 30 million in global sales by the end of the year.

CNET.com reported that Samsung sold 20 million Galaxy S3 phones in the first 100 days since its release. Additionally, Samsung's IT and mobile unit Chief, Shin Jong-kyun, announced on Sept. 12 that the Galaxy Note 2 should reach sales more than double of the original Galaxy Note's 10 million. The new note is expected to come out next month.

The International Business Times also reported that the Galaxy S3 recently surpassed the iPhone in sales for the first time since the iPhone 4S was released, almost a year ago.

"The Android 4.1 operating system will be available on the Galaxy S3 from October," Samsung told CNET UK. However, the Times speculates that it may not be the same for it's U.S. counterparts, especially because of the following quote, made by a spokesperson to CNET:

"Samsung Mobile has not determined which devices will be eligible for the Jelly Bean software update. We will share that information publicly as soon as the product roadmap is confirmed."
