iOS 6 Release Date And Features [DETAILS]
The iOS 6 got an update on Sept. 19 and now has over 200 new featured applications.
PC-Tablet.com listed many of the popular features, which include iMessage Blocking, Passbook and Game Center. There are also time-limited profiles, that can be set to automatically lock to prevent user change. Another feature: the "Guided Access" services for the Mail application allows someone else, like perhaps your children, to play with your iPhone without deleting any important e-mail messages.
The Find My iPhone app was updated with iOS 6. It allows users to lock their iPhone remotely if it is lost or stolen and send a message to the phone and a person who may have found it. Now, Find My iPhone supports Lost Mode, and users can send a phone number to their iPhone in hopes the person who finds the device will call it and return the hardware to its rightful owner.
However, the "special effects" are already causing some users problems. Enstarz previously reported that there have been complaints that the newly released iOS 6 Passbook was not working.
The new operating system by Apple was released on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 19, and immediately had thousands of iOS users upgrading to the new software. However, within hours there were users taking to social media sites to complain that Passbook was not working.
Passbook is supposed to turn the Apple mobile devices into a type of digital wallet, so that users are able to organize and store items such as tickets, loyalty cards, coupons, and gift cards.
Additionally, Apple said there navigation application, Apple Maps, was supposed to boost advanced features like turn-by-turn navigation and a 3D Flyover, according to the International Business Times. However, users have complained that the new system provides "inaccuracies and misplaced towns" and many are disappointed that it serves no public transportation directions, according to the publication.
