Chelsea vs Stoke takes place on Saturday as the Blues look to continue their good start to the new season. Kick off is at 10 a.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream (link provided below).

Chelsea have gotten off to a strong start to the new season but a slip up today could see Manchester United or Manchester City or even Arsenal overtake them at the summit of the English Premier League.

The Blues will come into this game disappointed with their midweek draw against Italian champions Juventus. Chelsea took a 2-0 lead against the Italian giants, but a number of mistakes allowed Juventus back in the game and it ended 2-2. Although the draw in the end was disappointing, a draw against Juventus is not a terrible result and should not affect the side’s mentality coming into today’s game.

Oscar should be available after his slight knock in the midweek Champions League game. However, Daniel Sturridge is again out with his hamstring problems.

On the Stoke side midfielder Jamie Ness should be back from injury, but Andy Wilkinson begins his three match ban following a violent conduct charge. Ryan Shotton may replace Wilkinson, or Matthew Upson could come in at centre-back, enabling Robert Huth to play at right-back.

Stoke have drawn all four of their matches so far this season, but would likely take a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today. Two of their draws so far have come against Manchester City and Arsenal, and proves they are a side hard to beat. They will need even stronger resolve to get anything from today’s game against the Blues, and they have not won away at Chelsea since 1974.

One word to describe Stoke is “consistent.” Since winning promotion they have finished 12th, 11th, 13th and 14th in the Premier League and a number of analysts have commented how their performances are always consistent - never extraordinary, and never terrible, but always solid, and sides usually have to be at their best to come away from them with the three points.
