Actor Johnny Lewis, who had a supporting role in the TV show "Sons of Anarchy," was found dead on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

He was suspected of killing an 81-year-old woman from who he may have been renting a room from, police said on Thursday, according to Yahoo.

The site noted that police responded to a call on Wednesday morning about a screaming woman in the Los Feliz section of California. Upon their arrival, they found Catherine Davis dead in her home, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Cleon Joseph said. The home had been ransacked and a dead cat was also found inside, according to Fox.

Joseph said only five days earlier, Lewis, 28, was released from jail however, when arriving to the scene on Wednesday, they saw him also dead in the home's driveway after either falling or jumping from the roof.

The death is still being investigated and no official confirmation has been made whether or not Lewis died from suicide.

Lewis pleaded guilty last month in a Los Angeles court to assault with a deadly weapon, District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Jane Robison said.

Fox News reported that Lewis' probation officials openly worried about his mental health and his "danger to others" in recent months. In the last 10 months of his life, he had been repeatedly arrested and sent to counseling.

They said Lewis "strangled his landlady and attacked neighbors" before dying himself on Wednesday.

Lewis was also linked to dating singer Katy Perry for some time.
