Murder suspect Robert Durst was arrested Saturday night in New Orleans amid more and more evidence being presented in an HBO documentary series.

Durst is at the center of The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst which is heading into its finale Sunday night. The 71-year-old was arrested on Saturday on a first-degree murder warrant, according to multiple reports.

As documented in The Jinx, Durst was thought to be responsible for the disappearance of his wife Kathleen McCormack and the murders of Los Angeles writer and friend Susan Berman and neighbor Morris Black. However, when on trial he pled self defense and was able to walk free.

Durst is a member of a multi-billion dollar real estate developing family. Durst's brother Douglas Durst, who is in charge of the company, released a statement on Sunday about the arrest.

"We are relieved and also grateful to everyone who assisted in the arrest of Robert Durst. We hope he will finally be held accountable for all he has done," the statement read.

It is perhaps interesting timing that Robert has been arrested now, with The Jinx set to air its final episode Sunday night on HBO. Whether this is a coincidence or not remains to be seen.

Robert has been interviewed in the present throughout the six-episode series, with many viewers taking notice of his eerie demeanor and cold speech patterns. With more and more potentially damning evidence presented each week, it was only a matter of time before police officials would reopen the case.

The show may add in a title card at the end of the finale, revealing that Robert has been arrested. Either way, viewers can catch the final episode of The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
