Following Amanda Knox and Raffale Sollecito's acquittals in the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, Rudy Guede is reportedly also seeking his own retrial, and possible exoneration, of the murder charges he is currently serving time for.

Guede, a drug dealer and Ivory Coast native who had his trial fast-tracked and is roughly halfway through his 16-year sentence for Kercher's murder in Perugia, Italy, is reportedly going to seek a reversal of his conviction, which was one which stated he was an accomplice to a murder 'committed in the company of others,' The Daily Mail reports.

Following the acquittal of Knox and Sollecito, Guede's lawyers are likely to argue that the two sentences are incompatible, with his conviction no longer a possibility if Knox and Sollecito are innocent.

"Look at me: I committed the impossible crime," Guede reportedly said. "How can I be the accomplice in a murder without any accomplices? I want a retrial."

Guede's lawyers are reportedly waiting to hear the reasoning behind Knox and Sollecito's innocence last month, which is set to be published within 90 days of the verdict.

"I am convinced that we will find elements to overturn the verdict," he said.

Guede reportedly also feels that Knox and Sollecito's appeals being granted gives him a fresher hope that he too can overcome the case.

"Destiny has been less kind to me but I will not lament. Today I have a new reason to go on," he said.

Guede also admitted he regrets opting for the fast-track trial.

"here in Italy the fast track trial is seen as an admission of guilt. But I thought I would be able to prove my innocence straight away," he said.
