Who Won The Debate Last Night? Biden/Ryan Debate Polls All Give Mixed Results
The viewers have spoken and polls taken right after the debate on Thursday night revealed who audiences thought prevailed in the face-off.
CNN conducted a poll at the conclusion of Thursday night's event and though both candidates had clear supporters, it seems like viewers would almost tied between who they thought came out victorious.
Forty-eight percent of voters who watched the vice presidential debate thought that Rep. Paul Ryan won the match. Forty-four percent say that Vice President Joe Biden was victorious.
The CNN/ORC International nationwide poll was conducted right after Thursday night's match up of the two candidates.
Also revealed in the poll: 55 percent said Biden did better than expected, while 51 percent said that the Ryan exceeded their expectations. The poll had a five percent point margin of error.
It was reported that more Republicans viewed the debate than Democrats, but only slightly more. Thirty-three percent to 31 percent, while 34 percent identified as independents, according to The Huffington Post.
The site added that a CBS News poll conducted after the debate also revealed interesting results.
Surveying uncommitted voters using an online panel, the poll showed that most of its voters felt that the debate was a win for current Vice President Biden: 50 percent thought Biden won, 31 percent thought Ryan won, and 19 percent that the debate was a tie.
The poll had a five percent point margin of error.
