England vs Poland Live Stream: Watch Online World Cup 2014 Qualifiers Oct. 16 @ 9 PM CEST
England will be headed to Warsaw to face Poland in one of the many 2012 World Cup Qualifying matchups on Tuesday. Both football clubs will look to perform at their peak, as anything less could be the difference between a trek to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and watching it from home.
England is coming off an impressive 5-0 victory over San Marino and Moldova. The squad will aim to continue its unbeaten record into the qualifying round. On the other hand, Poland will come into the key matchup with a mere four points in competition thus far.
Just off a suspension, Captain Steven Gerrard is expected to ignite England with his return to the lineup. He will more than likely take the place of injured vice-captain Frank Lampard, who will be sitting out the game.
Gerrard will be expected to play a crucial part in England's attack against the Polish club's defense. The leader clearly has the skill set to accelerate in his slightly altered role with the team. If Gerrard can come back at 100%, then England will be favored heavily. However, if he shows signs of rust, then the countries could be more closely matched in the game.
On the Poland side, striker Robert Lewandowski will be a large threat toward the English defenders. The 24-year-old has a track record of being able to score from almost anywhere on the pass and proved it in the Premiership with 30 goals last season. However, the youngster has struggled during international play, only scoring two times in seven games this year and has been seemingly ineffective for large spans of time.
With captain Jakub Blaszczykowski and Wojciech Szczesny both out of action for the evening's matchup, Poland can't afford another bad performance by Lewandowski.
