Cardinals vs Giants Live Stream, Watch Online ALCS, Oct 17 @ 4 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals will face off in Game 3 of the NLCS on Wednesday night. The Giants are coming off of an impressive 7-1 victory against the Cards as Ryan Vogelsong pitched a gem only allowing one run in seven innings on the mound. Jeremy Affeldt and Sergio Romo also entered the game for the club. Combined, the three only gave up five Cardinal base hits.
In the first inning of Game 2, Angel Pagan hit a solo home run toward right field, which got the momentum going in the first inning for San Francisco. From that point on, the team continued their offensive assault on the defending 2011 World Series champions. Marco Scutaro and Ryan Theriot also joined the hit parade with each driving in two runs, among other strong performances.
Game 3 of the ALCS will pin Giants' ace Matt Cain up against St. Louis' Kyle Lohse. With the arsenal of stuff that each pitcher possesses, the matchup should more than likely turn into a pitchers' duel. However, both pitchers have struggled to go deep into ball games during the 2012 postseason.
Cain had been cut short of six innings in both of his playoff outings and has struggled against St. Louis during the regular season. In his two starts against the Cardinals this year, the pitcher has given up a whopping nine earned runs in 11 2/3 innings.
For the most part, Lohse has been consistent in his two playoff starts and will take the mound with an extra day's rest. The Cardinal's ace is coming off a strong outing against the Washington Nationals as he only allowed one run on Thursday.
