The latest presidential polls are in in the run up to the election and it looks like Barack Obama was the winner of the second debate.

CNN/ORC International conducted a poll of 457 registered voters that saw the televised debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

The results showed 46 percent in favor of Obama and 39 percent for Romney. It also found that 73 percent thought Obama exceeded expectations that were set by his performance in the first debate. Romney didn't fare as well with 37 percent of those polled saying that the Republican challenger did better than was expected.

The survey was conducted over the phone with 33 percent listed on each side for Republican and Democrat and contained a margin of error plus or minus 4.5 percent.

Polls previously showed Obama at a loss in the Oct. 3 debate where he first contended against Romney who put up a strong show. However, the latest findings indicate Obama fighting back up the polls.

A Gallup poll was released yesterday before the debate, which had Romney in the lead with the support of 50 percent of likely voters compared to Obama at 46 percent.

The results of the Oct. 16 poll came from 2,723 likely voters drawn from more than 3,100 registered voters from Oct. 9-15 with a margin of error plus of minus 4.5 percent.

According to a poll from Rasmussen on Wednesday, the daily tracking poll favored Mitt Romney with 49 percent of voters nationwide supporting the Republican candidate. However, the results were too close to call any definite leader as President Obama had 48 percent; with one percent for a third party candidate and two percent still undecided.

The third and last debate will take place on Oct. 22 in Boca Raton, Florida.
