If you're in the market for a ring and a gun, then head to Iowa.

The store Jewelry by Harold is promoting an offer which provides a free gun with a purchase of a ring.

The Iowa jewelry store's promotion is aimed at engagement rings priced around $1,999.

On Oct. 15, the local ABC affiliate KCRG Channel 9 reported that a voucher will be given for a free gun with the purchase of one of Jewelry by Harold's rings.

Harold van Beek, owner of the Iowa jewelry shop, talked about the promotion saying: "Diamonds are a girl's best friend. So say: I'm hunting deer, and here is a diamond ring, dear."

The offer to buy a ring and get a gun lasts until Oct. 31. However, there are some restrictions to this deal. Besides purchasing a ring for at least a certain price, the person who buys the ring and wants the gun must also be eligible in the state of Iowa to own a gun. This means the offer doesn't apply to convicted felons looking to get engaged.

Van Beek said that a similar promotion in Georgia gave him the idea to run the promotion in his own shop. He explained: "We hope people know about the crazy jeweler in North Liberty that does crazy things. Fun is more important than anything else, we try to put some fun in it. Hunting season is coming up, I thought this is cool, so let's do something for the boy who doesn't like to hunt for diamonds, but likes to hunt for deer."

The voucher given by the store is good for one Remington 870 hunting shotgun with a retail price around $500 that can be redeemed at at Fin and Feather in Iowa City.

Sounds like a good way to start a wedding off with a bang.
