Polls that were taken from Oct. 15 and Oct. 17 found that Obama is leading by an eight point margin in Iowa, 51 to 43 percent among likely voters. The President is also said to be ahead in Wisconsin by six points, 51 to 45 percent. In both of the states, the latest findings are almost identical to the surveys that were conducted in September prior to Obama's statistical regression nationwide.

"There were two debates, but you can't tell it from the numbers," Marist's Lee Miringoff stated to NBC.

Although there is still a considerable amount of time for the presidential race to change its course, the chances of that happening in Iowa are slim to none, as a third of its voters are saying that they've already casted their picks. Eleven percent more stated that they have intentions to vote early.

A Huffington Post model estimate also has Obama in the lead over Romney in Iowa, but by four points (49 to 45 percent). In another poll taken, "We Ask America," shows the President ahead by three points in the state. In an entirely different political outcome, American Research Group has the race even between the two candidates.

The state of Wisconsin is revealing a slightly closer race overall. A poll released on Wednesday by Marquette University Law School has Obama tied with Romney. Real Clear Politics shows almost similar results, but they have the President up by 2 percentage points.

Polling director Charles Franklin of Marquette University stated on Twitter that the battle for a spot in the Oval Office is "as close as it could possibly be" in Wisconsin.

Obama and Romney will debate one last time before the presidential election on Monday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET. The event will take place at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.
