Two weeks prior to what is estimated to be one of the closest elections in U.S. history, many efforts to sway or pressure voters have inevitably become an increasing part of the political landscape. Political experts believe that tactical strategies are currently in place in order to sway voters' minds to the candidate of their choice's favor just before the November election.

According to Reuters, Eric Marshall of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, who manages a coalition that attempts to alleviate voter intimidation, stated the following:

"We've seen an uptick in deceptive and intimidating tactics designed to prevent eligible Americans from voting."

The site reports that Democrats have been more vocal about their complaints over such underhanded strategies. It's also being said that the respective party has also cited groups that are associated to the conservative Tea Party movement, which is allegedly training many individuals to monitor the voting booths on Nov. 6 for fraud. The aforementioned plan has been criticized by registered Democrats as a ploy to stall and prevent voting.

However, Republicans are said to be concerned as well, but they've more worried about voter manipulation in the politically divided swing states that can likely alter the final presidential race results between Romney and Obama.

Kurtis Killian, a Republican from St. Augustine, Fla., was one of the individuals in three states that allegedly received phone calls trying to sell him on the bogus idea of voting from home. He told the site that he received a call from a man who claimed he was an employee of the Florida Division of Elections.

"I know there is no such thing as phone voting. For someone who can't get out easily, they might go for that - it would be convenient for them. Once you think you voted ... you won't go to the polls. My vote would be cancelled out," Killian said.

With the final presidential debate now complete, Obama and Romney will now begin to focus on their swing state campaigns. With the national polls showing a dead heat race between the President and Republican, it will be more imperative for officials to crack down on any fraudulent activity that can alter the voting process.
